My approach: a blend of psychodynamic, liberation psychology, and mindfulness therapies
My general 'vibe': attuned, deep, philosophical, grounded, analytic (but warm!)
About me: At the heart of my practice is a commitment to holding a transformative space which helps you move into more free ways of living. I offer a collaborative and anti-oppressive approach which meets you where you are, and centers your empowerment, needs, and desires - to help you go beyond merely coping, towards thriving and liberation.
I believe therapy can serve as a powerful space for unraveling and changing our relationship to what keeps us 'stuck', enabling us bring about profound positive change. I offer an attuned and empathetic space for us to explore and unearth the patterns and conditions of your suffering, enabling you to creatively live otherwise.
I draw on an integrative blend of modalities including psychodynamic, person-centered, liberation psychology, and queer therapies. How I use these differs per client. My work is trauma-informed, culturally sensitive, difference-affirmative, and evidence-based.
I bring over 6 years of experience working in 'mental health' roles as a therapist, advisor, organizer and advocate, working with a large variety of diverse clients holding all kinds of issues including trauma, depression, anxiety, relational difficulties, and navigating social oppression. I trained as a psychotherapist at the University of Edinburgh, where I am now completing my doctorate. I am a registered counsellor through COSCA.
